Professor, Department of Paediatrics
Simon Lam is currently Professor at the Department of Paediatrics of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He graduated from the University of Cambridge in 1998 and moved back to Hong Kong in 2000. His research interests are in neonatology, paediatric respiratory medicine and the environmental impact on child health. Recently he has been focusing on the gut microbiome of preterm infants and big data analyses of neonatal outcomes.
He is the Year 5 Coordinator of the MBChB programme ensuring the smooth running of the Year 5 modules (community and family medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, and psychiatry), Assistant Dean in the Education team, and Warden of the Madam SH Ho Hostel for Medical Students.
He works as the Honorary Secretary of the Committee for Subspecialty Boards and the Honorary Treasurer of the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians. He is currently on the Advisory Council and the Data Collection and Operation Committee of the Australian New Zealand Neonatal Network.
