Biography

Dr. Kate Chan is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Paediatrics. She is also an Honorary Associate Consultant at the Department of Paediatrics, Prince of Wales Hospital and the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Hong Kong Children’s Hospital. She is a specialist in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine.


Her research focuses on paediatric sleep disordered breathing (SDB), including its natural history, pathogenesis, diagnostic tools, complications, and personalised management to childhood SDB. Her research work has received multiple awards including the Guilleminault Award for Sleep Research, the Best Young Investigator Award from the International Pediatric Sleep Association and the Best Young Investigator Award from the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians in 2015 and 2020.


She is the Teaching Coordinator of the Paediatrics module of the Year 5 undergraduate medical curriculum, with the passion in delivering high-quality education to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. She is also a board member of the International Pediatric Sleep Association, which is devoted to promote paediatric sleep medicine worldwide.
